Hello there!

Are you looking for childcare?

And you're wondering why should you chose an Ofsted Registered Childminder?

I am so glad you asked!  Here are just some of the reasons:

  • Childminders are safe.  In order to  become registered I had an OFSTED Suitable Person Check (I registered before CRB/DBS were needed) and a health check carried out by my Doctor.  I am regularly inspected by OFSTED to show that I meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. I have public liability insurance with Childcare.co.uk, I'm registered with the ICO and have many policies and procedures in place to help to keep myself and the children in my care safe.

  • Childminders are trained.  I have a level 3 Diploma in Pre-school Practice. I have a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate, Food Hygiene and I have attended Safeguarding training, Prevent Duty and I continually update my knowledge with many courses!

  •  Childminders have experience.  As well as being a childminder for 21 years and a mother to two amazing daughters for 33 years, I have also been a Pre-school leader, a Nanny in the USA and babysat from the age of 13.

  • Childminders are practical.  I care for all children from your new-born bundle of joy up to your bold, adventurous teenager, so all your children can be cared for together.  Older children often enjoy playing and helping with the young ones.  The littlies learn loads from the older children who take pride in being role models for the younger children and no one is segregated into different rooms.  I can take children to and pick up from Highlees Primary School and can be flexible with working hours to suit your needs.  I offer term time only care, holiday care and also ad hoc care if places allow.

  • Childminders are economical.  Childminders are often cheaper than nurseries.  I offer childcare that is tailor-made to your needs, so you pay for what you need, with some minimum hourly requirements.  I offer funded places to some 2 year olds and 3 & 4 year funded places, either 15 or 30 hours a week which can be stretched over more than the 38 weeks of term time if needed.  I am also registered for the Tax Free Childcare Scheme.

  • Childminders can roam free!  When your child attends my setting we are not limited to just staying at my house.  We often make use of the many parks within walking distance (5 that I can think of off the top of my head!)  We will go to the shops, looking for butterflies, birds and squirrels on the way, finding numbers on doors, letters that our names begin with on street signs, we listen to our voices echo in the underpasses and learn to cross roads safely.  We look at the different fruits and vegetables in the shop, we find the things we need on our list, look at aisle numbers and say 'Hello' to the lovely people that say hello to us! We visit the Community Garden, we occasionally go to visit my daughter because she has Guinea Pigs, a snake, a leopard gecko, crested geckos, mourning geckos, a blue tongued skink and a tenrec and she teaches us all about them.  We get to hold them too....if we are brave enough!!

I've convinced you, haven't I?  And now you're wondering what steps to take next?

Funny you should ask.....!
